FED: Rudd blasts Howard for musing over Iraq system
The federal opposition says Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD should concentrate on the crisisin Iraqi hospitals rather than the war-torn country's future constitution.
Mr HOWARD's told a conference in Melbourne a federal system like Australia's couldhelp hold together Iraq's regional and ethnic groups in a post-war environment.
But opposition foreign affairs spokesman KEVIN RUDD says Mr HOWARD should instead focushis intention on more immediate issues such as the crisis at Baghdad's hospitals.
Mr RUDD says the Red Cross has reported that 39 out of 40 hospitals in Baghdad aren'toperational because of looting.
He says Australia shares responsibility in resolving this situation.
